Amazon Vine Program: What Sellers Must Know

Lately, many sellers have been asking about reviews under the Amazon Vine Program. At Airsang Design, we’ve compiled the most frequently asked questions and key insights to help you better understand how Vine reviews work and how to make the most of them.

VINE CONDITIONS AND GRADES

Here’s a simplified summary of the Amazon Vine Program requirements and tier details:

Eligibility:

  • Professional seller account
  • FBA inventory (not NARF or Pan-EU)
  • <30 reviews per ASIN
  • New condition, with title, images, and description
  • Not adult, software, or oversized items
  • Available in US, CA, UK, EU, JP, AU

Tiers:

  • Free Tier: 1–2 ASINs, max 2 reviews, $0
  • Low Tier: 3–10 ASINs, up to 10 reviews
  • Standard Tier: 11–30 ASINs, $200, max 200 reviews

Tips:
Start small to test results, upgrade only if review speed and quality are strong. Once upgraded, tiers can’t be downgraded. No fees charged if no reviews after 90 days.

Vine Comment Retention Issue

Amazon Vine Review Merge FAQ|Compiled by Airsang Design

  1. Multi-Market Reviews: Vine reviews are counted separately per marketplace. After syncing, each site shows its own cap—30 (US), 10 (DE), 2 (JP).
  2. Variant Merges Pre-Policy: As of April 14, older merges retain all reviews. However, policy-violating merges may trigger compliance issues.
  3. Merging ASINs: Review caps are based on the parent ASIN’s Vine tier—2 (free), 10 (low), 30 (standard)—regardless of how many ASINs were combined.
  4. Different Tier Merges: Only the highest applicable review cap will display, e.g., 10 + 2 = max 10 visible reviews.

VINE Program Tips

Amazon Vine Tips|Shared by Airsang Design

  1. Start with EU/CA: Vine reviews are faster in Europe and Canada. Ship there first, then sync reviews to the U.S.
  2. Use Low-Priced Variants: For slow-moving U.S. categories, create a low-priced variant to speed up Vine reviews without affecting main listings.
  3. Use Service Providers Wisely: It’s okay to use Vine services for speed—just avoid any review manipulation.
  4. Avoid Early Negative Reviews: If your product has high return risk, test with 2 free Vine spots. Scale up only if reviews are positive.

Conclusion

At Airsang Design, we help sellers use Vine strategically—minimizing risk, accelerating reviews, and driving early conversions with smarter, tiered review planning.
